Eversource Energy (formerly known as NSTAR) filed basic service electric rates with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) for the period starting January 1, 2018 that are over 20% higher than current rates. Separate from its default service procurement, Eversource has pending customary updates to other by-passable riders which are included in the total basic service rates. These updates have not yet been approved. The proposed rates use adders consistent with Eversource’s basic service tariff filing. Therefore, the rates will change if the new adders are approved.
The proposed rates are below in dollars per kWh ($/kWh) and include the current Basic Service Adders, Renewable Portfolio Standard Adders, Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard Adders, and the Clean Energy Standard Adders. Again, if new adders are approved, final basic service rates will differ from the below:
